Night Routine — Evening Reflection (7:00–8:00 PM)
Beloved, come rest in His presence, The day is winding down. This is your sacred evening hour to be still before the Almighty, reflect on His faithfulness, cleanse your heart, and surrender everything — including tomorrow — into His hands. Draw near, and He will draw near to you.
ONE HOUR WITH JESUS
7:00 – 7:10 PM
Stillness & Presence
What to do: Turn off screens. Sit or kneel in a quiet place. Breathe slowly. Let the noise of the day fade. Simply be with God — no agenda, no requests yet. Just presence.
Scripture
Psalm 131:1-2 (NLT) — "Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don't concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother's milk. Yes, my soul is like a weaned child."
Suggested Prayer
Father, I quiet my soul before You. I let go of the day. I simply want to be with You. Still my racing mind. Calm my anxious heart. I rest in Your presence.
7:10 – 7:25 PM
Scripture Reading
What to do: Read an evening passage — a psalm, a Gospel story, or a chapter from an epistle. Read it slowly, as if God is speaking directly to you. Underline what stands out. Let His Word be the last thing that fills your mind tonight.
Scripture
Psalm 4:8 (NLT) — "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe."
Suggested Prayer
Lord, Your Word is my comfort. As I read, speak to me. Let Your truth settle into my soul. Let Your promises guard my heart through the night. I hide Your Word in my heart.
7:25 – 7:40 PM
The Examen — Reviewing Your Day with God
What to do: Walk through your day with God. Where did you feel closest to Him? Where did you drift away? What are you grateful for? What do you regret? Be honest — God already knows, and His love is unchanging.
Scripture
Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) — "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life."
Suggested Prayer
Father, search my heart. Show me where I walked with You today and where I wandered. Thank You for the moments I felt Your presence. Forgive me for the moments I didn't. Lead me back to Your path.
7:40 – 7:50 PM
Confession & Forgiveness
What to do: Confess your sins honestly — the things you did and the things you left undone. Receive God's forgiveness. Then, forgive anyone who wronged you today. Release every offense into His hands.
Scripture
1 John 1:9 (NLT) — "But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness."
Suggested Prayer
Lord, I confess my sins to You — [name them]. I am sorry. Thank You for Your faithful forgiveness through Jesus. I also choose to forgive those who hurt me today. I release them. Cleanse my heart, O God.
7:50 – 8:00 PM
Surrender & Rest
What to do: Lay tomorrow entirely in God's hands. Release your worries, your plans, your fears. Trust Him with what you cannot control. Pray the Lord's Prayer as you prepare to rest in His care.
Scripture
Psalm 127:2 (NLT) — "It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to His loved ones."
Suggested Prayer
Father, I surrender tomorrow to You. I release my worries, my plans, my fears. You hold the future, and You hold me. I trust You. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Rest now in the arms of the Almighty. He who watches over you neither slumbers nor sleeps. Tomorrow is already in His hands. Peace be with you.
